Domestic and Commercial Range
1. POLYURETHANES
Uroxsys have developed an entirely new range of polyurethanes for the flooring, furnishing and UV protection market. They have been designed for maximum performance with the best possible health and safety features. These include the use of much less flammable and less toxic solvents, and markedly lower free isocyanates in the work space. On the work site this means less smell and less toxicity.
- Duracoat MCR Range:
A standard or aromatic polyurethane used for interior wooden floors,
particle board and natural cork tiles. Available in gloss these are usually applied as three coats for wooden floors,
and four coats for natural cork.
- Duracoat MCL Range:
A top of the range aliphatic, or non-yellowing polyurethane, developed
for use over cementitious substrates and on premium wooden substrates
where ongoing clarity, colour stability and UV protection is paramount.
Available in gloss and matt, these products have superior performance
in interior and exterior service.
- Watermarque Range:
A water-based two-component clear polyurethane. These high performance
products are non-yellowing and have low odour. The system comprises
special primers for wood and concrete, with gloss, matt and satin
topcoats.
2. PRIMERS AND SEALERS:
- Duracoat Rimu Sealer:
A two-component very fast drying polyurethane with excellent sanding
characteristics and fast recoat time. It is especially suitable for
sealing porous or problematical timbers and filling in the grain.
Developed for the furniture industry, it is made for spraying and is
sandable in half an hour. It is best used in conjunction with the
Duracoat ZK range of polyurethanes.
- Reactive Primer:
A one-component moisture cured polyurethane primer developed for use as
a high performance, clear, penetrating urethane primer to promote
adhesion and to seal wooden and cementitious surfaces.
- Duracoat RHS Sealer:
A one-component moisture-curing polyurethane that primes timbers that
are high in extractives. It features a fast recoat time, low odour and
is designed for the flooring industry. It is best used in conjunction
with the Duracoat MCR range of polyurethanes as it darkens with age.
- Watermarque WB primer:
Two component, medium solids, high clarity, gloss water-based
polyurethane primer build coat, designed to be used in conjunction
with the Watermarque range of polyurethane topcoats.
3. ADHESIVES:
- Bondurox Polyurethane Adhesive (sold as
Selleys Liquid Nail Direct Stick):
This speciality adhesive is a single pack (moisture cured)
polyurethane which gives maximum strength bonding of wood and wood
products for flooring overlays over concrete, ply, particle board or
joists. It features fast cure, excellent initial grab without
memory and very high bond strength with some gap filling
properties. This product is available in 10L pails, and in
700g (1
m� coverage) Flexi sausages for detail and joist application.
- Bondurox C
: This is a single pack moisture curing polyurethane based adhesive
designed for bonding concrete blocks, pavers and kerbing to concrete
and asphalt substrates. It can also be used to bond recycled rubber
based traffic control mouldings and safety matting to trafficable
substrates. It features excellent bond strength, rapid cure, good wet
grab and initial hold and is suitable for intermittent immersion
service in water once cured.
- D-Vise
: A single pack, clear, moisture-curing polyurethane-based adhesive
which has excellent bond strength, low odour and cures rapidly.
Intended for use in the joinery, cabinetry, and construction industry.
Available in standard formula (drying in 2 hours) or fast formula
(drying in 30 minutes).
- ECS Epoxy System :
A high quality, two component, 100% epoxy clear resin, formulated to
provide enhanced adhesion to wood, glass reinforcing and other common
laminating composite materials. Suitable for use as a laminating resin,
or suitably thickened, as an adhesive. It can be thinned on site with
meths to give a fast curing low smell seal to concrete substrates to
effect a moisture barrier. Alternate summer and winter hardeners are
available to ensure consistent handling characteristics.
- VBS ( sold as Selleys VBS Vapour Barrier):
A high quality, fast curing, two-pack epoxy water vapour barrier
system. This product is designed primarily as a one coat system to seal
concrete floor slabs and reduce the amount of water vapour emanating
from the concrete to a wooden floor overlay.
4. ANCILLARY PRODUCTS
- Duracoat Floor Cleaning Concentrate:
Designed to properly clean coated floors, and to dry streak free, this
product is ideal for pre-cleaning aged floors prior to re-glazing, and
recommended for on-going maintenance of polished floors.
- CCA
: An organic acid cleaner formulated for cleaning and etching concrete
surfaces prior to coating or topping. Reaction by-products are readily
soluble, and easily removed by washing down and surfaces wash clean
without white salt deposits remaining. It is environmentally friendly
and safe to use around stainless steel.
- CCS
: A solvent based water rinsable cleaner exhibiting high flash point
(low flammability) and excellent solvency for uncured advanced
coatings, such as epoxies, polyurethanes and polyesters. Used for the
clean up of equipment after two pack coatings and the removal of oil
and grease from contaminated surfaces prior to coating eg. oil
saturated concrete.
- Polyurethane Adhesion Promoter
: A one component, low odour adhesion promoter developed for use as an
adhesion promoter primer for glass and concrete substrates, especially
highly polished surfaces.
- Strong Reglaze Solvent
: A low-odour blend of strong solvents to soften and sensitise aged
moisture-cured polyurethane floor surfaces to improve the adhesion of a
recoat.
- Reducer R122:
A general brushing thinner for the Duracoat range, although not usually
required for normal application. Most commonly used as a final
wipe down reglaze solvent before re-coating, where it helps soften the
surface and to aid the pick up of electrostatically borne sanding dust.
- Polyurethane Brush Cleaner:
A very effective clean up and brush preservative solvent blend for
polyurethanes. Designed to prevent polyurethanes hardening in
the
brush, it must never be used as a thinner.
- Polyurethane Spray Thinners:
A low flash point solvent blend for adjusting the viscosity of mixed
Uroxsys sprayable polyurethanes to the recommended spray viscosity.
- Through Cure Catalyst: This
is added to the Duracoat MCL at up to 1.5% and MCR ranges at up to 5%
by volume, immediately before application to combat high viscosity and
slow cure caused by lower on-site temperatures. Used by some
contractors with care to obtain early sanding times, or to allow two
coats per day.
